Emotional Intelligence Coaching develops the unique set of abilities that are basis for these leadership outcomes: the abilities to identify, utilize, understand, and manage the power of emotion and thought.
Principles Emotions are not extraneous - they are integral to sound and effective thinking and decision making. Simply put, effective decision making cannot occur without emotion. Teaching leaders to be more aware of such data sources and to integrate this critical data into their thinking enhances the quality of their information and their decisions.
Abilities Our four-step model is a thoughtful, structured approach that can be used as a blueprint to help us better understand our world and better assist our organizations: (1) Identify Emotions – Accurately identify how you, and others, feel. This information is the basis for effective communication and decision making. (2) Use Emotions – Emotions are used to direct our attention, to guide our thinking, and to enhance our decision making. (3) Understand Emotions – Emotions follow logical rules and patterns. Emotional understanding allows us to determine why people feel the way they feel, and how they will react to certain events. (4) Manage Emotions - Emotions contain critical information, so it is important to stay open to emotions and to integrate this information in order to make intelligent decisions.

Qualifications The theory of emotional intelligence has received worldwide attention. The theory was developed by Dr. Peter Salovey and Dr. John Mayer. Dr. David Caruso, a psychologist with years of business and management experience, turned this exciting theory into practice, successfully applying it to the world of work. We are at the forefront of the field, conducting basic research, developing new tests, and applying the ideas through our coaching and development services. Our approach is supported by our dozens of scientific publications, as well as by a base of clients.
